This contract position is located in Port Saint Lucie, FL, working within the school setting to support students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The role offers 37.5 hours per week and is ready to hire for the current and the 2026/2027 school years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments for K-12 students to improve mobility, strength, and functional abilities.
- Collaborate closely with school staff, including teachers and aides, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and required paperwork in compliance with school and state regulations.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and therapy goals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated care and support for students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with experience in school-based therapy preferred.
- Strong understanding of pediatric physical therapy principles and interventions appropriate for children with diverse needs.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and educational professionals.
- Ability to manage a K-12 caseload effectively, adapting therapy approaches to meet a wide range of developmental levels.
