Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting students’ special education needs as a Physical Therapist during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This short-term contract runs from July 6 through August 6 and offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference in a school-based setting near Pottstown, PA. Work just one day each week, from 8:30am to 1:00pm, providing expert PT services for a small K-12 caseload of seven students across two nearby school sites.
Your Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist in Pennsylvania (required)
- Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting (preferred)
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators and families
- Ability to work independently and travel between two sites (6 miles apart)
- Comfort supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school grades
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct thorough physical therapy assessments tailored to each student’s IEP goals
- Deliver individualized and group PT sessions to foster mobility, motor skills, and independence
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in team meetings as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success in the school environment
- Ensure safe practices and adapt treatments to accommodate each child’s needs
