Exciting opportunity for a dedicated physical therapist to work within a supportive school setting on a contract basis. This itinerant position calls for a skilled professional who is adaptable and ready to serve students across multiple sites in the Riverside area. You will play a vital role during the Extended School Year (ESY), helping identify summer caseloads and ensure students receive crucial make-up minutes from previous academic years.
Your expertise will help make a positive impact on student wellness and participation, and you may also supervise physical therapist assistants (PTAs) as part of your responsibilities. If you are bilingual in Spanish, your skills will be highly valued in this role, and prior experience working in California schools is required.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist in California
- Proven experience within California K-12 public school settings
- Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites as an itinerant physical therapist
- Ability to identify and manage student caseloads for summer sessions and make-up services
- Supervisory capability to oversee PTAs as needed
- Bilingual Spanish preferred, though not required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based physical therapy services to students in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Travel to various school sites to meet service needs efficiently
- Accurately assess, document, and track student progress
- Support the provision of make-up minutes for the 2024-2026 school years
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Provide supervision and guidance to physical therapist assistants
- Adapt to evolving caseloads and schedules as required
