A contract opportunity is available for a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide specialized school-based services primarily for kindergarten through 5th-grade students. This position runs from late April through the end of June, making it an ideal long-term substitute role. The commitment is approximately 35 hours per week, and services will be delivered across two locations within Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical therapy assessment and treatment for students from K-5 grades.
  • Collaborate with educational and support staff to implement individualized therapy plans.
  • Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies.
  • Communicate progress and recommendations with parents, teachers, and administrators.
  • Travel between two assigned school sites as necessary to deliver services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant credentials.
  • Experience working in a school setting preferred, especially with younger children.
  • Ability to adapt treatment methods to meet student needs in a classroom environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between assigned locations.
