Step into an enriching school-based physical therapy position serving a vibrant district of approximately 14,000 students. This full-time contract role runs the entire academic year, from August to late May, with opportunities for both in-person and hybrid engagement. You’ll work with a diverse caseload, providing hands-on direct and consultative therapy, conducting comprehensive evaluations, and actively participating in IEP and team meetings to support students’ physical and educational development.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapy license for Illinois
- Previous school-based experience or a strong interest in pediatric settings
- Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to provide both direct therapy and indirect consultation
- Flexibility to work in multiple school settings across a district
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to students according to IEPs and referrals
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to develop targeted intervention plans
- Maintain thorough and organized documentation
- Consult with classroom teachers, special educators, and family members on strategies to promote student success
- Participate actively in meetings and support transitions to in-person or hybrid models as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment for students with varying needs
