School-Based Physical Therapist - Romulus, Michigan

Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Physical Therapist interested in working with K-12 students on a part-time, contract basis. In this dynamic school environment, you’ll support a caseload of 10-15 students, helping them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. With a schedule of 8-10 hours per week and an assignment running through June 2027, this role offers long-term impact as you collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to ensure students receive the physical therapy services they need.

Qualifications:

• Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in Michigan
• Experience supporting children or adolescents in a school setting is highly desired
• Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and familiarity with school therapy documentation
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
• Ability to adapt therapy interventions for diverse needs and age groups
• Dedication to fostering student engagement and participation

Role Duties:

• Deliver physical therapy services directly to students from kindergarten through high school
• Assess student needs, develop treatment plans, and document progress
• Participate in IEP meetings and help develop goals and objectives
• Train school staff on adaptive equipment and movement strategies as needed
• Communicate regularly with families and educators regarding student progress
• Keep accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements
