Desired Qualifications:
- Current Physical Therapist licensure in Illinois (or eligibility to obtain)
- Recent experience in a school-based PT setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), goal-setting, and progress documentation
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, educators, and families
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules and varied caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ physical abilities and develop tailored treatment plans supporting their academic participation
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate therapy into students’ daily routines
- Document and report on student progress, maintaining compliance with district and state guidelines
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute expertise to multi-disciplinary teams
- Educate school staff on mobility, positioning, and safe handling techniques
