Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ success as an onsite Physical Therapist for a full school year near Sacramento, CA. This contract, full-time opportunity (37.5 hours per week) starts ASAP and is ideal for skilled PTs seeking to create a more accessible and enriching school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in California
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP process and relevant documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to adapt interventions based on individualized student needs
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented approach
Your Responsibilities:
- Evaluate students to assess developmental, neuromuscular, and physical functioning within the educational environment
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support participation and access throughout the school day
- Collaborate with special education and general classroom staff to support inclusive education
- Document therapy sessions, maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, and contribute to IEP development
- Provide training, education, and consultation to staff and families on safe mobility, accessibility, and adaptive equipment
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to help students achieve their educational goals
