A rewarding opportunity is available for a contract physical therapist to support students across multiple schools in a very itinerant role for the upcoming academic year. This assignment runs from August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. The position requires travel throughout the district, primarily serving students from early childhood through transition at a variety of school sites—caseloads are intentionally small at each location, ensuring a manageable workload and the chance to develop meaningful connections.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California license in physical therapy required
- Previous experience in school settings preferred: skilled in pediatric therapy and IEP documentation
- Ability to manage a very itinerant schedule and work independently
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, staff, and families across multiple locations
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide physical therapy services to students across the district in accordance with IEP goals
- Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs in early childhood through transition settings
- Consult with educators and contribute to IEP meetings to promote student growth
- Travel to up to a dozen school sites as assigned, delivering services onsite only
- Keep accurate records and progress notes, ensuring compliance with district and state documentation standards
