Qualifications:

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in the state (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but open to candidates from other backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and fellow clinicians
  • Commitment to student-centered practice
  • Willingness to travel to and work within schools as assigned

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine students’ physical therapy needs
  • Develop and implement treatment plans aimed at improving students’ mobility, access, and participation in school activities
  • Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ educational goals
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with all regulations
  • Attend IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations for student support plans
  • Provide consultation and training to educational staff regarding physical therapy strategies
  • Adapt and modify interventions as students progress
