Physical Therapist - School Setting in Sylva, NC

Step into an essential contract opportunity supporting students in a vibrant educational setting near the Sylva and Waynesville, NC area. This position focuses on delivering quality physical therapy services to a small caseload—specifically working with 2 students—ensuring they receive attentive, individualized care and access to learning in a supportive environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in North Carolina
• Experience or strong interest in school-based healthcare and pediatric therapy
• Ability to work collaboratively with educational staff, parents, and other support professionals
• Strong communication skills to document and share student progress
• Understanding of IEP process and related documentation a plus
• Organizational skills and adaptability to the school environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct physical therapy to students identified through individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Assess, develop, and implement treatment plans tailored to address student needs within the school setting
• Monitor and document student progress; adjust therapy strategies in partnership with teachers and families
• Consult with school staff to adapt activities, promote inclusion, and remove barriers to participation
• Ensure all interventions and practices comply with federal, state, and local regulations and best practices in school-based physical therapy
