School Physical Therapist | The Villages, Florida

Step into a rewarding role providing vital physical therapy services to students across a diverse K-12 population. This contract opportunity offers both full-time (40 hours/week) and multiple part-time positions, making it easy to fit your schedule. The role begins in October 2026 and runs through the end of November 2027, with immediate interviews being conducted on September 16th.

You'll spend your days on-site, rotating between 2 or 3 schools daily (from a total of 35 serviced schools), working closely with another physical therapist and a PTA. Expect a manageable caseload of approximately 94 students divided among your team, delivering both direct and indirect services to general education and some Pre-K students.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Florida Physical Therapy license required
• Experience in school-based settings strongly preferred, though not mandatory
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and work collaboratively with educators and support staff
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Comfort with itinerant service delivery and managing a variety of age groups

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide age-appropriate physical therapy interventions to help students access their educational environment
• Conduct assessments, develop individualized plans, and implement therapy goals
• Maintain detailed documentation per school and district requirements
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with educators and families
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress reviews
