Physical Therapist - School Setting in The Villages, FL

This contract position offers flexibility, allowing for either one full-time professional or multiple part-time clinicians to make a real impact across a range of schools near The Villages, FL.

In this role, you’ll serve a diverse caseload of K-12 students—with some Pre-K included—providing both direct and indirect physical therapy services. Working alongside another PT and a PTA, you’ll typically cover two to three schools per day, chosen from a group of thirty-five campuses. This itinerant structure ensures each day brings fresh challenges and the chance to collaborate with various educational teams.

Desired qualifications and experience:

• Professional Florida Physical Therapist license required
• District preference for individuals with school-based experience (not required)
• Availability for on-site services with flexibility for part-time or full-time scheduling
• Strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within school communities
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and adapt to changing day-to-day needs
• Experience with children and adolescents from kindergarten through high school

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based physical therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs or referrals
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and collaborate closely with educators and families
• Complete attendance and service documentation accurately
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Support both direct therapies and consultative services as needed

This role is slated to start as soon as credentialing is complete and may continue through the school year, depending on departmental needs.
