Physical Therapist - School Setting in Valatie, NY

This full-time assignment begins as soon as possible and will continue through June 26, with the possibility of extending into the summer as well. In this essential role, you’ll work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families while focusing on student success and mobility.

You’ll have the chance to make a significant impact by helping students develop the physical skills they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond. The role includes making up 450 compensatory hours, offering both challenge and fulfillment as you support a diverse student population across grade levels.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid NY state Physical Therapist license
• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Prior experience working in a school-based setting preferred
• Understanding of IEPs and documentation for K-12 students
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt care plans to meet the varying needs of students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and develop individualized physical therapy plans
• Deliver direct therapy sessions and provide consultative services to school staff and families
• Collaborate with educators and other therapists to support student access to educational environments
• Maintain clear documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
• Adjust therapy techniques to address a range of disabilities and developmental challenges
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
