Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Illinois
- Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy strongly preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with educators, parents, and other therapists
- Ability to develop and implement customized care plans for students with diverse physical needs
- Familiarity with IEP processes and related documentation requirements
- Flexible, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, based on their IEPs or 504 plans
- Evaluate student needs and progress through assessments and ongoing monitoring
- Develop targeted therapy goals and interventions to maximize student independence and participation in school activities
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ functional mobility and access to curriculum
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and document all required reporting
- Train school staff on appropriate techniques and adaptations for student safety and inclusion
