Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in Illinois
  • Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with educators, parents, and other therapists
  • Ability to develop and implement customized care plans for students with diverse physical needs
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and related documentation requirements
  • Flexible, organized, and adaptable in a fast-paced educational environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students, both individually and in groups, based on their IEPs or 504 plans
  • Evaluate student needs and progress through assessments and ongoing monitoring
  • Develop targeted therapy goals and interventions to maximize student independence and participation in school activities
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ functional mobility and access to curriculum
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and document all required reporting
  • Train school staff on appropriate techniques and adaptations for student safety and inclusion
