School-Based Physical Therapist - Virginia Beach, Virginia

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and collaborate with teachers and staff
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to determine students’ physical therapy needs within the school environment
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans as part of multidisciplinary student support teams
• Monitor progress, document interventions, and adjust plans based on student development
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to promote student participation in school activities
• Educate and train school staff and caregivers on strategies to support student mobility and access
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with district and federal requirements
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute subject matter expertise in physical therapy
