Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in RI and compliance with state regulations
- Prior experience working in schools or with pediatric populations preferred
- Confidence managing a severe caseload and adapting therapeutic interventions accordingly
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers
- Willingness to participate in safety care training (provided by the school)
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach and commitment to fostering student progress
Core Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ mobility, functional skills, and physical needs within the school environment
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to support IEP goals
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and families to ensure continuity and consistency of care
- Document and report progress, maintaining compliance with school and district standards
- Stay current with best practices in pediatric physical therapy
