We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide district-wide services for a welcoming school community near Waterbury, CT, conveniently located near Bridgeport. This full-time contract assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year (EOSY). You'll collaborate with educators and families, using your expertise to support students’ physical development and enhance their access to educational activities.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist license for Connecticut
- Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly preferred
- Ability to manage a varied caseload across multiple school sites within a district
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to partner with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to providing individualized and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
- Team-player mentality with excellent time management and organizational abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students with varying physical and developmental needs
- Deliver direct services and consultative support in alignment with students’ IEP goals
- Regularly document progress and adjust interventions for continued student growth
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents
- Travel between schools within the district as needed to provide comprehensive PT services
- Educate staff and families on strategies and accommodations to support students’ success
