Make a positive impact every day by supporting students ages 6 to 21 across two school sites near Waterbury, CT. This contract position runs from ASAP through June 12, 2026, with flexible scheduling (full- or part-time considered, Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours per week). You’ll engage with an inspiring caseload, which includes students with Autism Spectrum Disorders, seizure disorders, genetic and metabolic syndromes, dual diagnoses, and those preparing for vocational transitions. The program operates within a strong behavioral framework, utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting assessments and developing individualized physical therapy plans tailored to IEP goals and student needs
- Delivering direct therapy services and providing consultative support in multiple school environments
- Documenting services and student progress in alignment with school and state requirements
- Collaborating seamlessly with educators, occupational and speech therapists, and vocational staff
- Supporting each student’s mobility, safety, and independence in both classroom and community or vocational settings
Qualifications:
- Active Connecticut Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
- Experience in school-based or pediatric environments is highly desirable
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, student-centered practices
- Skills in effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
