Physical Therapist - School Setting in Waukegan, IL

Two positions are currently available: a part-time role (.6 FTE) for the full academic year and a full-time maternity leave coverage (approximately 8 weeks).

Desired Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Illinois
• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
• Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
• Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
• Effective time management and organization skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting screenings and evaluations for students referred for physical therapy services
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the educational team
• Delivering direct and consultative PT services within school settings
• Monitoring student progress and documenting outcomes according to best practices
• Educating staff and families about strategies and accommodations to support student participation
• Adapting interventions to meet IEP goals and student abilities
• Participating in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
