Physical Therapist - School Setting in Waukegan, IL

Make a meaningful difference for students by supporting their physical growth and development in a dynamic school-based setting near Waukegan, IL. We are seeking two passionate and dedicated professionals to fill key contract roles within an energetic educational environment: a .6 school-based Physical Therapist for the academic year, and a full-time Physical Therapist to cover an approximately 8-week maternity leave.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in pediatric or school-based PT and are comfortable working collaboratively with educators, families, and school support teams to foster student success.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Illinois
• Previous experience in a K-12 school setting (preferred)
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to organize and manage a flexible caseload
• Dedicated to fostering inclusion and supporting diverse learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and provide interventions for students requiring physical therapy
• Develop and implement IEP goals in coordination with educators and allied professionals
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation
• Support students’ motor development and access to the curriculum
• Communicate progress and strategies with staff and families
• Participate in team meetings and provide input on student plans

Opportunity Details:

• .6 FTE PT position—ongoing for the school year, working closely with a dedicated caseload
• 1.0 FTE PT position—short-term assignment, approximately 8 weeks, covering a maternity leave
