This contract position is based in West Hartford, CT, and offers the opportunity to work in two school sites serving students aged 6 to 21 years old. The role is full-time Monday through Friday, with part-time candidates considered, running from ASAP through June 12, 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized physical therapy plans aligned with students' needs and IEP goals.
- Provide direct physical therapy services and consultative support across multiple school settings.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including educators, occupational and speech therapists, and vocational support staff.
- Support students’ functional mobility, safety, and independence in both academic and vocational environments.
- Document all services and student progress in compliance with school and state regulations.
Caseload includes students with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Seizure Disorders
- Genetic Syndromes such as Fragile X
- Metabolic Disorders
- Dual Diagnoses
- Students preparing for vocational transition at age 22 within a strong behavioral program based on ABA principles.
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
- Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy preferred.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
