This contract position is based in West Hartford, CT, and offers the opportunity to work in two school sites serving students aged 6 to 21 years old. The role is full-time Monday through Friday, with part-time candidates considered, running from ASAP through June 12, 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized physical therapy plans aligned with students' needs and IEP goals.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services and consultative support across multiple school settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including educators, occupational and speech therapists, and vocational support staff.
  • Support students’ functional mobility, safety, and independence in both academic and vocational environments.
  • Document all services and student progress in compliance with school and state regulations.

Caseload includes students with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Seizure Disorders
  • Genetic Syndromes such as Fragile X
  • Metabolic Disorders
  • Dual Diagnoses
  • Students preparing for vocational transition at age 22 within a strong behavioral program based on ABA principles.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Physical Therapy license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
  • Experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
