Make a difference in the lives of students ages 6–21 by providing physical therapy services across two engaging school sites. This contract position offers both full-time (Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours per week) and part-time options, with placements running ASAP through June 12, 2026. You will work alongside collaborative teams using evidence-based approaches to help students achieve greater independence and success in academic and vocational settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Connecticut Physical Therapy license, or eligibility to obtain before your start date
- Experience with school-based or pediatric caseloads preferred
- Proficiency in supporting students with diagnoses including autism spectrum disorders, seizure and metabolic disorders, genetic syndromes (such as Fragile X), dual diagnoses, and students preparing for vocational transition
- Strong commitment to behavioral programs grounded in ABA principles
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Dedication to fostering inclusive, student-focused environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized physical therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy and consultative services across academic and community-based settings
- Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and vocational professionals
- Enhance students’ functional mobility, safety, and independence in preparation for a variety of post-secondary opportunities
- Maintain thorough documentation of services and progress in line with all regulatory requirements
