Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a dedicated physical therapist for the 2026/2027 school year. You'll serve an engaged community near West Hartford, CT, providing districtwide services from August 2026 through June 2027.
In this full-time, Monday–Friday role (32–37.5 hours per week), you'll have the chance to work directly with students across all grade levels. Your in-person expertise will help students build mobility, self-confidence, and independence, making a significant impact on their educational journeys.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current license to practice physical therapy in Connecticut (or eligibility by August 2026)
- Experience with or enthusiasm for working in school-based settings (K-12)
- Excellent communication skills—able to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Compassionate, student-centered approach to therapy
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites within a district
- Must be able to provide hands-on services in person
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement interventions for students with a range of physical needs
- Document progress, goals, and measurable outcomes according to school and ethical standards
- Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and IEP development
- Offer recommendations for classroom adaptations and support training for school staff to empower student success
- Travel between schools within the district as needed
