This role spans two accessible school sites serving a diverse student population ranging in age from 6 to 21 years old. Your schedule offers flexibility, with 25 hours per week split between the two campuses, and the contract runs from September 1, 2026, through June 11, 2027. For those seeking continued engagement, there’s an opportunity to extend into the summer program through ESY (Extended School Year).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapy license in Connecticut
- Prior experience in school settings or with pediatric to young adult populations
- Comfort and familiarity with ABA principles and integrating them into physical therapy practice
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including special education and behavioral specialists
- Strong communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to travel between two school locations
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted physical therapy services to students with a variety of needs and abilities
- Develop individualized care plans with attention to functional goals and behavioral strategies
- Track and document student progress; participate in IEP/504 meetings as needed
- Adapt interventions based on ongoing assessments and student response
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom climate aligned with best practices in behavior management
