School-Based Physical Therapist - West Hartford, Connecticut

Step into an impactful role supporting young learners as a Physical Therapist (PT) on a contract assignment. Serve students in PreK through 3rd grade, bringing your expertise to a welcoming educational setting just outside West Hartford, CT. This opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, offering approximately 12 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Connecticut
• Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to design and implement individualized therapy plans for young students
• Comfortable managing a caseload of elementary-aged children across PreK to 3rd grades

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted PT services to students requiring support, both individually and in small groups
• Evaluate student progress and adjust therapy strategies as needed
• Work with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote students’ physical development and participation in school activities
• Complete all required documentation, progress notes, and reports promptly
• Attend IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions when necessary
• Promote mobility, coordination, and independence in the school environment
