You'll play a vital role in the development and well-being of an 11-year-old female student, working with a collaborative educational team near White Plains, NY.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of New York
- Experience in a school-based setting or serving pediatric populations preferred
- Comfort and skill working with medically complex children, especially those with combined visual and hearing impairments and cognitive disabilities
- Ability to design and implement creative, evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers
- Commitment to promoting student independence, engagement, and functional mobility in school and home settings
Responsibilities:
- Provide two 30-minute physical therapy sessions each week for one homeschool student, delivered onsite at the district building
- Evaluate and monitor progress, adapting goals and methods as necessary
- Collaborate closely with caregivers and school staff to ensure a team-oriented approach
- Develop and implement customized strategies to help the student build strength, coordination, and mobility, maximizing her participation and quality of life
- Maintain timely documentation in accordance with school and legal guidelines
