You'll work closely with students, educators, and families to help students achieve their mobility and functional goals, enhancing their ability to participate fully in the school environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Physical Therapist license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state
  • Prior experience working with pediatric populations in educational or school-based settings preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborative approach to teaming with teachers, staff, and parents/guardians
  • Effective organization and time management abilities

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide school-based physical therapy services to students as outlined by IEPs
  • Assess students’ gross motor and functional skills and document findings
  • Develop, monitor, and update treatment goals and intervention strategies
  • Consult with teachers and staff to adapt classroom activities and environments as needed
  • Provide education and resources to staff and families on supportive techniques and equipment
  • Maintain accurate records and progress notes on all students served
  • Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences
  • Stay current with best practices in pediatric physical therapy
