Physical Therapist - School Setting in Winsted, CT

This contract physical therapist role offers the chance to work full-time, Monday through Friday, with a weekly schedule of 32-37.5 hours from August 2026 to June 2027. Serving a diverse K-12 caseload, you will support students' physical growth and development across various settings within the district.

You will be the dedicated physical therapist for the district, providing vital services to help children reach their fullest potential. The setting is entirely in-person, allowing you to build strong relationships within the school community and deliver hands-on care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Licensed Physical Therapist in Connecticut (PT)
• Previous experience working in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
• Comfort working across different grade levels (K-12)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and other support staff
• Strong assessment, intervention, and documentation skills
• Commitment to serving students in-person for the full academic year

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs for students
• Support students’ participation in educational settings by improving mobility, strength, and function
• Develop and update treatment goals and therapy plans in collaboration with educational teams
• Conduct screenings and assessments as needed throughout the district
• Maintain detailed records and progress notes in compliance with regulations
• Participate in IEP meetings to share recommendations and advocate for students
