Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
  • Recent experience working as a PTA, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
  • Strong understanding of therapy plans for children with a wide range of physical abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Flexibility and adaptability working with diverse student needs across multiple grade levels
  • Reliable organizational skills for timely completion of documentation and progress updates

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct physical therapy services to students as articulated in their Individualized Education Program (IEP), under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
  • Assist in assessing students' motor skills and adapting activities to maximize their independence in the classroom and school environment
  • Track student progress, document session outcomes, and update records in accordance with school and program requirements
  • Support student participation in classroom learning, mobility, and self-care as it relates to their therapy goals
  • Educate teachers and school staff on best practices and modifications for supporting students’ physical development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages growth, confidence, and success for every child
