Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Physical Therapist Assistant, working with PreK through 3rd grade students near Bolingbrook, IL. This part-time position begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2027, offering the flexibility of working 2 to 3 days per week. You'll play a pivotal role in helping children develop essential motor skills that contribute to their overall academic and personal growth.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate's degree or higher in Physical Therapy
- Current Illinois state license for Physical Therapist Assistants
- Previous experience in a school setting or working with young children (PreK-3rd grade) preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to a diverse student population
- Organizational skills to manage documentation and caseload requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized and group physical therapy programs as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Support students in achieving their mobility and functional goals within the school environment
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, sessions, and communications
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals
- Adapt interventions and equipment for students with varying abilities and needs
