We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a school-based therapy team serving students in the Portales, NM area. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children improve their mobility, independence, and participation in the school environment while collaborating with educators, therapists, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans and therapy goals.
• Assist students in developing gross motor skills, mobility, balance, strength, and functional independence.
• Document therapy sessions and student progress in accordance with district and state guidelines.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Participate in IEP meetings as requested.
• Maintain therapy equipment and ensure a safe treatment environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current New Mexico PTA license (or eligibility for licensure).
• Current CPR certification (preferred).
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience is a plus, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
