Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Active licensure as a PTA in Illinois
- Experience in a school setting preferred, but new graduates passionate about pediatric therapy will be considered
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and educational staff
- Ability to implement therapy plans and adapt techniques to meet individual student needs
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to participate as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out therapy interventions based on plans developed by a licensed physical therapist
- Assist students in improving strength, coordination, and functional mobility within classroom and school environments
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participation
- Communicate with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor growth and adjust strategies as needed
- Support adaptive equipment use and implement modifications to promote access and participation in educational activities
- Contribute to meetings or IEP/504 planning as required
