Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Active licensure as a PTA in Illinois
  • Experience in a school setting preferred, but new graduates passionate about pediatric therapy will be considered
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and educational staff
  • Ability to implement therapy plans and adapt techniques to meet individual student needs
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to participate as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out therapy interventions based on plans developed by a licensed physical therapist
  • Assist students in improving strength, coordination, and functional mobility within classroom and school environments
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and participation
  • Communicate with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor growth and adjust strategies as needed
  • Support adaptive equipment use and implement modifications to promote access and participation in educational activities
  • Contribute to meetings or IEP/504 planning as required
