Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
  • Current PTA licensure or eligibility in South Carolina
  • Previous experience in a school setting or working with school-aged children preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with educators, therapists, and families
  • Organizational ability to manage caseloads and required documentation
  • Enthusiasm for fostering student independence and inclusion

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist physical therapists in executing individualized therapy plans for students
  • Work one-on-one or with small groups to facilitate exercises, activities, and mobility training
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining detailed and timely documentation
  • Support classroom staff with adaptations or recommendations to enhance physical access and participation
  • Participate in meetings and contribute insights on student needs and therapeutic goals
  • Ensure the safety, confidentiality, and well-being of all students throughout daily activities
