Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hold current certification and licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
  • Previous experience working with students in school-based settings preferred
  • Comfortable supporting a diverse caseload spanning elementary, middle, and high school
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with educators, specialists, and families
  • Ability to adapt interventions for various ages and abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct physical therapy interventions as outlined in students’ individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with supervising physical therapists to develop and implement therapy programs
  • Document therapy sessions, progress notes, and student outcomes thoroughly and accurately
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in developing goals for students
  • Educate staff and caregivers on student-specific strategies for physical development and functional mobility
  • Adapt therapy sessions as needed to accommodate varying learning and physical abilities
