Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current licensure or eligibility to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New Jersey
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably within educational settings
- Strong understanding of pediatric therapy techniques and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills for collaboration with educators, therapists, and families
- Ability to adapt interventions to various learning and developmental needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed physical therapists in providing comprehensive therapy services to students with physical challenges
- Collaborate with school staff to deliver therapy that supports educational goals outlined in student IEPs
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with state and district regulations
- Engage students in activities designed to maximize mobility, coordination, and independence in the classroom environment
- Participate in meetings and contribute to student evaluations and progress reports
