We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to support students in a school-based setting. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help students improve mobility, strength, and functional independence, enabling them to fully participate in their educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans as developed by the supervising Physical Therapist
- Provide direct therapy services to students with a variety of physical and developmental needs
- Assist with assessments by gathering data and documenting student progress
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other related service providers
- Support students with mobility, positioning, and use of adaptive equipment
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as appropriate
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current state licensure or certification as a PTA
- Previous experience in a pediatric or school-based setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of IEP processes and school-based therapy services is a plus
