Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Valid state PTA license (or eligibility)
  • Prior experience working with pediatric populations or within school environments strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and relevant school-based therapy practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, faculty, and families
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing school settings

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver physical therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist to help students achieve educational and functional goals
  • Support assessments, implement treatment plans, and document student progress appropriately
  • Assist with developing adaptive techniques and strategies for classroom and school access
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Educate students, staff, and families on mobility, safety, and equipment use
  • Maintain accurate records and support compliance with state and federal guidelines
