Key Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Valid state PTA license (or eligibility)
- Prior experience working with pediatric populations or within school environments strongly preferred
- Knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and relevant school-based therapy practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, faculty, and families
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing school settings
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist to help students achieve educational and functional goals
- Support assessments, implement treatment plans, and document student progress appropriately
- Assist with developing adaptive techniques and strategies for classroom and school access
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions
- Educate students, staff, and families on mobility, safety, and equipment use
- Maintain accurate records and support compliance with state and federal guidelines
