In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with education and healthcare professionals to help students reach their physical development goals, fostering independence and participation in school activities. Your background in both educational and healthcare settings will be invaluable as you develop and implement intervention plans tailored to each student’s unique needs.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid PTA license in North Carolina
- Experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in schools or pediatric settings
- Understanding of school-based therapy documentation and compliance standards
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with educators, therapists, families, and students
- Ability to work with a range of ages, from preschool through high school
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to respond to changing needs throughout the school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy support services to PreK-12th grade students as outlined in their IEPs
- Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapists to design and implement intervention strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing progress monitoring
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with school and state standards
- Provide input and resources to teachers and families to maximize student achievement
