This position focuses on providing 1:1 behavioral support in an adapted, self-contained classroom, assisting students who exhibit some challenging behaviors. Your expertise as a certified RBT will support individualized interventions and contribute to a safe, encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required.
- Experience working with children or young adults in educational or behavioral health settings.
- Skilled in implementing behavior intervention plans and collecting data on student progress.
- Comfortable managing and supporting students who may demonstrate aggressive or challenging behaviors.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a focus on working closely with teachers, related service professionals, and families.
- Adaptability and compassion for students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 behavioral support to a student within a self-contained classroom environment.
- Implement individualized behavior intervention programs under supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Monitor, document, and report target behaviors, interventions, and progress.
- Employ de-escalation techniques and maintain a safe environment.
- Collaborate with classroom staff to reinforce positive behavior and support student development.
- Participate in team meetings and training opportunities to foster professional growth.
