School Registered Behavior Technician

Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Location: Augusta, ME
Position Type: Full-Time (ASAP – End of School Year, with high likelihood of Summer and Next School Year continuation)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 2:15 PM

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support a 5th-grade student in a school-based setting in Augusta, Maine. This role begins immediately and continues through the end of the school year, with a strong possibility of extension into the Extended School Year (ESY) and next school year (NSY).

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 behavioral support to a 5th-grade student throughout the school day
• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
• Collect accurate data on student progress and behavior
• Support the student in academic, social, and emotional development
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and clinical supervisors
• Maintain a safe and structured environment for the student and others

Student Profile:

• The student may exhibit physically and verbally aggressive behaviors
• Requires consistent behavioral support, structure, and de-escalation strategies

Qualifications:

• Active RBT certification required
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting
• Strong behavior management and de-escalation skills
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
• Reliable transportation and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting students with behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with data collection and ABA principles
