Registered Behavior Technician - Boulder, CO

This contract position places you in a vital role within a supportive team at Nederland Elementary, working closely with both the Principal and Special Education Director. Your primary focus will be 2nd and 3rd grade students, though your influence will extend across PK through 5th grade classrooms.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or equivalent paraeducator credentials required
• At least two years of experience in special education within a public school classroom
• Skilled in adapting behavioral support strategies to the unique needs of elementary students
• Demonstrated experience navigating mountain, canyon, and winter driving conditions; reliable transportation is essential
• Flexible, collaborative approach with the ability to thrive as part of a cross-functional team
• A preference for local candidates from Boulder County or surrounding mountain communities due to limited housing options

What You’ll Do:

• Provide direct, hands-on behavioral support to students primarily in grades 2 and 3, with involvement across preschool through 5th grade
• Implement behavior intervention plans in collaboration with teachers and specialists
• Monitor, document, and report on student progress, adapting strategies as needed
• Communicate regularly with the Principal and Special Education Director to review outcomes and update practices
• Engage in 2–3 additional days of professional training throughout the school year beyond typical student attendance days
