Step into a vital role supporting young learners in an Autism Program classroom setting, where your compassion and expertise as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or experienced Paraeducator can make a meaningful difference. This contract position is located near Bristol, CT, and runs from ASAP through the end of October, providing crucial continuity for students while permanent staff are onboarded.
Your experience will directly support students ages 5-6 with severe autism spectrum disorder, helping foster an environment where they can thrive. As part of a highly collaborative, onsite team, you’ll implement proven practices, support daily needs, and contribute to a nurturing classroom dynamic.
Qualifications:
- Active RBT certification required (for RBT applicants)
- Paraeducator applicants must have direct experience in Autism Program classrooms
- Demonstrated comfort working with young children (ages 5-6) with severe ASD
- Experienced with toileting and changing, providing support for daily living needs
- Reliable and passionate about serving children with diverse abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students exhibiting significant autism-related needs
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under clinical supervision
- Assist with daily care routines, including toileting and diaper changes for students as needed
- Support classroom routines, instructional activities, and student engagement
- Document student progress and share observations with the team
- Foster a safe, supportive environment focused on student growth
