Registered Behavior Technician in Bristol, CT

Take on a meaningful, short-term contract supporting young learners in Autism Program Classrooms. This onsite opportunity focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 and classroom support to 5-6-year-old students exhibiting severe autism spectrum disorder (ASD). You’ll collaborate with a committed educational team, ensuring these young students receive the guidance and attention needed during a pivotal transition period.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification required for RBT roles
• For Paraprofessional roles: Current Connecticut Paraprofessional Certificate required, along with proven experience in autism education settings
• Demonstrated comfort supporting children ages 5-6 with significant ASD needs
• Willingness to assist with toileting and diaper changing as part of daily support
• Ability to adapt to dynamic classroom environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver behavioral interventions and direct support to students in Autism Program Classrooms
• Assist with implementing individualized education and behavioral plans under guidance from lead therapists and teachers
• Support students with daily personal care routines, including toileting and diapering
• Uphold safety and positive learning environments while tracking student progress
• Communicate observations and participate actively in staff meetings and care conferences
• Adapt strategies as directed to address evolving student needs throughout the assignment

This contract runs from ASAP through the end of October, offering approximately 35 hours per week on location. You’ll make a direct impact as students transition between service providers—a unique, rewarding experience for those passionate about supporting children with autism.
