1:1 Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) | Carlsbad, California

A fulfilling opportunity awaits an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) passionate about supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This contract position is designed for an individual skilled in implementing behavioral strategies, collecting data, and providing steadfast assistance within a structured middle school setting. You will deliver one-on-one support for a student, striving to foster positive behavioral change and skill development.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RBT registration through the BACB required
• Current CPI certification required
• Experience supporting students with ASD highly preferred
• Background in applied behavior analysis (ABA), school-based behavioral support, or behavior intervention desirable
• Demonstrated ability to identify behavioral triggers and implement proactive, effective strategies
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Patience, consistency, and professionalism in challenging situations

Responsibilities:

• Offer individualized behavioral and educational assistance to a middle school student with ASD throughout the day
• Implement ABA-based strategies and follow established behavior intervention plans
• Support the student in managing avoidance behaviors, peer interactions, and conflict resolution
• Proactively recognize and respond to behavioral triggers; utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary
• Accurately collect and document data related to behavior and skill acquisition
• Collaborate with teachers and the behavioral support team, sharing observations and student progress
• Encourage appropriate social skills, positive communication, and greater independence in the student
• Maintain a calm, supportive presence in every interaction

Additional Information:

• Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–2:45 PM (32.5 hours per week) aligned to the school calendar
• Pay ranges from $24.00–$33.00 per hour
