Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting an elementary student in a vibrant school setting for the upcoming academic year. This full-time, onsite contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference as you work one-on-one with a third-grade student while also providing classroom assistance.
From August through the end of May, you'll collaborate closely with a district Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills alongside experienced professionals. The schedule runs Monday to Friday, 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, and you'll be fully immersed in the school community.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is highly valued
- Paraprofessional or equivalent experience supporting students with special needs
- Demonstrated background in managing challenging behaviors or working within behavior intervention programs
- Experience working in schools or with elementary-aged children, especially those in special education
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Flexibility, empathy, and patience in responding to students’ diverse needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one behavioral support to a third-grade student throughout the school day
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the direction of the BCBA
- Assist the classroom teacher and other students as needed, facilitating a positive and inclusive environment
- Collect and report data on student progress and behavior
- Support social, emotional, and academic growth through evidence-based strategies
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
