Take on a rewarding contract role supporting an elementary student one-on-one in a vibrant school environment near Columbiana, AL. This full-time, onsite opportunity begins August 7, 2026, and runs through May 25, 2027, with a schedule totaling 35 hours each week. You’ll play a key part in a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with the district BCBA, and providing dedicated support to a first-grade student.

Candidates holding a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential are especially encouraged to apply, though strong experience working with children with special needs and behavioral backgrounds is also welcomed. Crisis Intervention training will give you a distinct advantage in this setting.

Desired Qualifications:

  • RBT certification preferred, but candidates with experience supporting children with special needs are considered.
  • Prior paraprofessional or behavior intervention experience.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based behavioral strategies.
  • Crisis Intervention training or relevant certification is highly regarded.
  • Able to work full-time on a school-based schedule (35 hours per week).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to a first-grade student, implementing effective behavioral and instructional strategies.
  • Follow and assist in implementing behavior intervention plans under supervision of a BCBA.
  • Track student progress and behavior, maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with team members, including educators and specialists.
  • Assist with daily classroom routines, adapting approaches as needed to ensure student safety and engagement.
