This exciting contract opportunity is ideal for Registered Behavior Technicians who are passionate about working 1:1 with students and are comfortable in specialized classroom settings.
As a Registered Behavior Technician, you’ll work full time from 8am to 3pm, dedicating 35 hours per week to support a student in a GNETS classroom. Your expertise in behavior management and experience addressing aggressive behaviors will be highly valued, ensuring safety and facilitating progress for both the student and the learning community.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification required
- Previous experience working 1:1 with students exhibiting challenging or aggressive behaviors
- Background in behavioral intervention within school or classroom environments, preferably in GNETS or similar settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Composure, patience, and flexibility in high-needs situations
- Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive learning space
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, consistent 1:1 behavioral support for a designated student
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and collect data on student responses
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, related service providers, and school staff
- Employ de-escalation and crisis management strategies as needed
- Support the student’s integration and participation in classroom routines and activities
- Model positive behavior and reinforce social-emotional growth
