This opportunity is ideal for a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) with experience supporting young learners in educational settings. The role involves providing one-on-one behavioral support to a pre-school student diagnosed with autism who has communication needs, a short attention span, and high energy levels. You will be working within an integrated pre-school classroom alongside a special education teacher and two paraprofessionals, supporting a total of eight students.
Location: East Greenwich, RI
Type: Contract
Schedule: Full-time preferred (9:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.), Part-time option available (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing behavioral interventions tailored to the student’s needs
- Supporting the student’s communication and social skills development
- Collaborating closely with the SPED teacher and paraprofessionals to create a positive learning environment
- Monitoring and documenting the student’s progress to inform instructional strategies
- Utilizing ABA techniques to reinforce positive behaviors effectively
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Prior experience working with children diagnosed with autism and communication challenges
- Ability to maintain patience, enthusiasm, and energy to engage a young, active learner
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Familiarity with integrated classroom settings and special education procedures
