Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where you’ll provide one-on-one support for a middle school student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a dynamic and supportive school environment. This role is designed for professionals skilled in behavior management, data collection, and collaboration with educational staff to ensure consistent and effective support throughout the school day.
In this position, you’ll play a vital part in helping a student achieve greater independence and success by implementing tailored behavior intervention plans based on ABA principles. Your calm, patient presence will help guide the student through challenging moments and celebrate their achievements along the way.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver individualized behavioral and educational support during the school day
- Utilize established ABA strategies and behavior plans for skill building and behavioral management
- Identify triggers and employ proactive techniques to prevent escalation
- Use de-escalation methods as needed to address challenging behaviors
- Collect and document precise data regarding behaviors, skills, and progress
- Maintain clear communication with teachers and the student’s support team
- Foster positive peer interactions and encourage social skill development
- Approach each interaction with professionalism, patience, and consistency
Qualifications:
- Active RBT registration through the BACB
- Current CPI certification
- Experience supporting students with ASD highly preferred
- Background in ABA or school-based behavioral support a plus
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to remain steady and supportive during challenging behavior episodes
