In this contract position, you’ll be an essential advocate, working directly with a student across various school environments to promote positive behavior and foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized assistance to a student requiring behavior support in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, recess, and additional school settings.
- Consistently model and encourage the use of positive behaviors and effective coping mechanisms.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and provide crisis support as needed to maintain a safe, productive environment.
- Work in collaboration with teachers, behavior specialists, and other support staff to ensure cohesive, comprehensive care.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality while following the direction of educational professionals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required (some districts may prefer college coursework or an associate’s degree).
- Previous experience supporting children or youth in schools, childcare centers, or similar settings is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and the capacity to stay calm in challenging situations.
- Willingness and ability to implement guidance from teachers and behavior specialists.
