A dynamic contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) eager to make a positive difference in the lives of students. This full-time RBT position is based in an adapted self-contained classroom where you'll work closely 1:1 with a student, supporting behavioral and academic growth in a setting that values collaboration and compassion.
The classroom environment requires dedication and professionalism, as some students may exhibit aggressive behaviors. Your expertise will provide crucial support as you implement behavior intervention plans, monitor student progress, and collaborate with educators and support staff.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required
- Prior experience working in a school or educational setting preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students with behavioral challenges
- Familiarity with behavior intervention plans and data collection
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable in dynamic environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy and behavioral supports to a designated student within a self-contained classroom
- Implement individualized behavior intervention and skill-acquisition plans under supervision of a BCBA
- Document and monitor student progress, reporting on observations and milestones
- Use proactive strategies to de-escalate challenging behaviors and promote positive alternatives
- Participate in team meetings and support collaborative planning
- Help foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages learning and respect
