Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting high school students in a special education program as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). This full-time contract role offers the chance to help shape positive learning experiences, working directly with students and collaborating with an expert team in a welcoming educational environment located near Norwich, Connecticut.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver personalized 1:1 behavioral and academic support to a high school student
- Implement behavior intervention plans and skill-acquisition programs under the supervision of a qualified professional
- Encourage the growth of communication, social, adaptive, and independent-living abilities
- Support classroom management and help facilitate participation in group and school activities
- Carefully collect and document behavioral and skill-acquisition data
- Maintain adherence to all behavioral and safety guidelines
- Assist students with daily transitions and routines throughout the school day
What We’re Looking For:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB, or the ability to obtain/maintain certification as needed
- Completion of required RBT training and competency assessment
- High school diploma or equivalent credential
- Ability to pass background checks and any required clearances
- Experience working with children, teens, or young adults with special education needs
- Background in special education settings is highly preferred
- Familiarity with ABA principles, intervention strategies, and data collection best practices
Compensation for this position ranges from $22.43–$30.23 per hour. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
